UCAS and Student Finance

We start the UCAS application process in the summer term of year 12, when students start to consider university course choices and draft their personal statement. Prior to this, students receive a wealth of support and information about their progression options via external and internal talks, guidance lessons and 1:1 discussions. Students continue to work on their UCAS applications in the first term of year 13 and the guidance team is committed to ensuring that all students are supported in completing a highly competitive UCAS application.

Students receive support with finance applications in guidance lessons. They can apply for student finance and the application process opens in February. Students apply online using the following website: https://www.gov.uk/student-finance/apply

We advise students to submit an application form as early as possible so that the money is available for the start of term in September. Students do not need to have made final decisions regarding courses before they apply as this information can be adjusted at a later date. Applications can also be withdrawn if students do not take up their university places.
