At Brinsworth Academy we believe that students should be given a wide range of opportunities to develop and practise leadership skills in preparation for life beyond school.
Student Leadership is open to our Y7-Y10 students. There are many opportunities for our students to develop their leadership skills, both within curriculum areas and our pledge system. We aim to provide these opportunities for our students by succeeding together as a community through a shared vision and our ethos, using student voice to make our school the best it can be. Student leadership is continually evolving as students take on more leadership roles. We listen to what our students would like to develop through regular strand meetings and student voice feedback.
Our core values are for our students to achieve excellence by demonstrating the 3 R’s Respect, Responsibility and Resilience through everyday interactions within our school community.
We have 9 pledges in total, that students can gain during their time as a student leader. These are designed to give our student leaders a wide range of skills, and to grow in confidence, to ensure they are a well-rounded student leader.
Student leaders have to re-apply every year, so as to show dedication, but also to ensure that they are suitable and willing to continue on with their role.
