Adam Goddard
Transition Lead
Our aim is to ensure our students experience a well-planned, varied and exciting transition programme. We enjoy working with a range of primary schools in years 4, 5 and 6 within our catchment area. We are keen to offer a variety of experiences and opportunities to students prior to their Y6 transition week, ensuring they feel confident and excited about joining our school community.
student leaders also visit primary schools to develop positive relationships, speak to students about what to expect at the Academy and to work in small groups to discuss current topics. The year 5/6 open evening is an opportunity to meet staff and students and to begin to explore the curriculum at the Academy. We offer the opportunity for parents and students to visit throughout the year. If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact us.
It is important to us to get to know families and work together in partnership, particularly during the difficult times we currently find ourselves in. It is vital that our families and children feel supported and feel they have access to staff who listen and support them with their needs. It is, for this reason, we offer a transition experience of high quality, one that students enjoy and parents speak positively about.
We are pleased that we are the first choice for so many parents and students and are always working to ensure that transition is enjoyable and stress-free.
I am Andrew Marren Assistant Principal. It is very important to us at the Academy that parents and students have a positive experience as youngsters move into year 7 and onwards.
